StatSheet Projects Massachusetts as NIT Six Seed: 02/07/2012

StatSheet is projecting Massachusetts to go to the NIT as a six seed. The Minutemen are ranked #68 in the StatSheet StatRank with a 17-6 overall record and a 6-3 record in the A-10.

During the last four games, Massachusetts registered a quality win against RPI #34 Saint Louis and wins against George Washington and Richmond but also took on a bad loss to RPI #239 Rhode Island.

Massachusetts has a 3-4 record against the RPI Top 100 that includes a 2-1 record against the RPI Top 50 but an 0-1 record against AP ranked teams. While the Minutemen have two quality wins including RPI #34 Saint Louis and RPI #40 St. Joseph's (PA), they're also hampered by two bad losses including RPI #239 Rhode Island and RPI #127 College of Charleston.

The last four teams into the NCAA Tournament with at-large bids are Ole Miss (14-8, 4-4 SEC, StatRank #52), Minnesota (17-7, 5-6 Big Ten, StatRank #50), NC State (17-7, 6-3 ACC, StatRank #58), and Notre Dame (15-8, 7-3 Big East, StatRank #55).

The first four teams out are Brigham Young (20-6, 8-3 West Coast, StatRank #46), Colorado (16-7, 8-3 Pac 12, StatRank #66), New Mexico (19-4, 5-2 Mountain West, StatRank #41), and Texas (15-9, 5-6 Big 12, StatRank #71).

The next four out are Arizona (16-8, 7-4 Pac 12, StatRank #65), LSU (13-9, 3-5 SEC, StatRank #70), Pittsburgh (15-9, 4-7 Big East, StatRank #63), and Purdue (15-8, 5-5 Big Ten, StatRank #62).
