StatSheet's A-10 Player of the Week for February 13th goes to St. Bonaventure's Andrew Nicholson. StatSheet's A-10 Freshman of the Week goes to Jerrell Wright from La Salle. And finally, St. Joseph's (PA)'s Ronald Roberts Jr. is the StatSheet A-10 6th Man of the Week.
Nicholson was tops in the A-10 in rebounding (16.0 per game). He also tallied huge numbers in both shooting (60%) and scoring (22.5 pts per game). The St. Bonaventure senior put these numbers up in a win versus Duquesne and a loss to Massachusetts.
Nicholson topped all scoring and rebounding for the Bonnies with 24 points and 9 rebounds in a 76-67 loss to Massachusetts. He then led all scoring and rebounding with a 21 point and 23 rebound performance in a huge 69-48 victory against Duquesne.
This is the second time this season that Andrew Nicholson has been selected StatSheet A-10 Player of the Week. He has also received an honorable mention. The runner-up this week is our own Jesse Morgan. Honorable mention goes to our own Chaz Williams.
StatSheet A-10 Freshman of the Week: La Salle's Jerrell Wright
Jerrell Wright averaged 20 minutes as a starter for La Salle. He led all A-10 freshmen in rebounding (6.0 per game). In a 78-76 loss to Richmond, Wright tallied 11 points and 3 rebounds. Then in a 59-51 loss to Saint Louis, he led scoring with 18 points and rebounding with 9.
Amazingly, Jerrell Wright has won the StatSheet A-10 Freshman of the Week 3 times. The runner-up is Devon McMillan from Fordham. Honorable mention goes to Bryan Smith from Fordham.
StatSheet A-10 6th Man of the Week: St. Joseph's (PA)'s Ronald Roberts Jr.
Ronald Roberts Jr., a 6-8 Sophomore forward, averaged 27 minutes of action over two games for the Hawks. In a 72-60 loss to Saint Louis, Roberts Jr. put up 14 points on 66% shooting. Then in a 73-62 victory against Massachusetts, he racked up 8 rebounds and 71% shooting.
This makes 8 times that Ronald Roberts Jr. has won the StatSheet A-10 6th Man of the Week award this season. Josh Parker, a senior guard from Dayton, is runner up. T.J. DiLeo, a junior guard from Temple, receives honorable mention. Javorn Farrell finished 4th and was the highest ranking 6th man from Massachusetts. Massachusetts players have not yet been named StatSheet A-10 Player of the Week this season.
